Auritas Implements First OpenText Extended ECM Solution on SAP S/4HANA
SAP consulting firm breaks new ground with ERP services
Sanford, Fla., April 18, 2017 – SAP partner and data management firm, Auritas, announces the first and only implementation of the OpenText Extended Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution on the SAP S/4HANA enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. Gainesville Regional Utilities tasked Auritas to engineer and execute the first-of-its-kind solution. Known as GRU, the multi-service utility is owned by the City of Gainesville and serves approximately 93,000 retail and wholesale customers, offering electric, natural gas, water, wastewater and telecommunication services in Gainesville and surrounding areas. GRU is currently comprised of two divisions, one for utilities, and the other for government.
“We needed to design a solution that provided cross-departmental access to a vast amount of structured and unstructured content that existed on various SAP and non-SAP platforms while mitigating numerous challenges related to cost and compliance,” noted Auritas Chief Technology Officer, Deepak Sood. “Our team worked with GRU’s leadership to obtain a deep understanding of their workflows, determine project scope, and develop an effective deployment strategy.”
The solution was a tailored ERP product suite that leverages OpenText’s Extended ECM platform and is engineered to build a structured taxonomy for business content while addressing GRU’s organization-specific and legal requirements. Auritas is the first, and currently the only SAP consulting firm to have implemented this sophisticated enterprise content management solution since SAP S/4HANA’s unveiling in February of 2015.
“We identified the unique opportunity in which it was best to integrate solutions that were non-existent only a few years ago.” commented Auritas President, Andy Martin. “This is a significant accomplishment, not only for both organizations involved, but also for the SAP ecosystem. This will be the first of many.”
Both organizations worked in conjunction for eight months to execute this project from end-to-end. The magnitude and complexity of this monumental achievement will undoubtedly serve as a real use case for ERP professionals and global enterprise leaders as SAP’s market share continues to grow. At the time of this publication, there are no other reported instances of OpenText Extended ECM running on SAP S/4HANA.
