NVIDIA's ESG Reporting Through SAP Invoice Management by OpenText
Facing increasing pressure to meet sustainability reporting requirements and limited by high-level, non-actionable insights, the company turned to Auritas for help. By extending VIM beyond traditional invoicing to capture detailed, line-item operational data for energy, utilities, and consumption, Auritas enabled a more comprehensive and structured approach to sustainability data management. This transformation resulted in significantly deeper visibility into operational performance, stronger compliance and audit readiness, and the ability to drive more informed forecasting and financial planning.

-
Accurate forecasting
Multi-dimensional data model enabling deeper analysis and forecasting.
The Challenge
Nvidia, like many organizations were facing increasing pressure to meet evolving sustainability regulations and reporting requirements, making it critical to have accurate, detailed, and timely data. However, the existing third-party solution in place only provided high-level insights, limiting the ability to take meaningful, data-driven actions. At the same time, there was a clear lack of granular, operational-level sustainability data needed for effective planning and forecasting. This gap made it difficult for the team to translate sustainability goals into actionable strategies.
Additionally, the existing OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) solution did not have the capability to capture or process sustainability-related operational data, further restricting visibility and hindering progress toward sustainability objectives.
The Solution
The solution centered on enhancing OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) by integrating Intelligent Capture for SAP (ICS), enabling more advanced data extraction and processing capabilities. VIM was extended beyond its traditional invoicing function to capture operational sustainability data, allowing organizations to track and manage environmental metrics directly within their existing SAP workflows. This included implementing line-item level data capture for energy usage, utilities, and consumption metrics, providing a much more detailed and actionable dataset.
To ensure global consistency, standardized data structures and templates were developed, enabling uniform data capture across regions and business units. The solution also introduced multi-channel data ingestion, allowing data to be collected seamlessly through email, VIM extraction, and drag-and-drop methods. In addition, data enrichment capabilities were built to enhance captured information with headers, rate slabs, and key attributes, improving the quality and usability of the data. A robust exception management framework with rule-based validations was also implemented, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and efficient handling of discrepancies.
