The Challenge
The organization's financial division has benefited from the capabilities of the leading Enterprise Information Management (EIM) solution, OpenText, for many years. As part of the long-term strategy to improve its business systems, it successfully migrated is business system to the cloud – improving access and storage as well as reducing support cost.
This effort, conducted in July of 2020, was the first and largest engagement of its kind for the organization – migrating over 30 terabytes of data from outdated storage centers to a modern cloud environment. In addition to migrating and consolidating data from disparate storage centers, this digital transformation effort included tasks to upgrade, stabilize, and move its system on-premise OpenText Document Access to cloud services.
The Solution
Auritas collaborated closely with the company's internal team, OpenText Public Sector Solutions (OTPSS), and other key technology partners to deliver expert SAP and OpenText implementation and support services. As part of the engagement, Auritas led the stabilization of the existing on-premise OpenText landscape in preparation for a seamless cloud migration. This included the setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of six OpenText environments within the system’s new cloud infrastructure. Auritas also managed the successful migration of all on-premise content to the cloud, ensuring business continuity, system performance, and scalability for future growth.
Solution Scope:
• ``Design and Blueprint” workshops with the Army team to create a roadmap for success.
• Creation of 6 OpenText Archive environments in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud.
• Connection of 8 SAP systems to 6 OpenText Archive environments.
• Migration of 8 terabytes of data from on premise architecture to cloud.
• Post go-live Hypercare ensured systems were operational, monitoring was implemented and fine-tuned.
• Successful testing of all functionality including Disaster Recovery.
• SAP archiving performed prior to migration to ensure that the SAP HANA DB was as lean as possible to support cost-effectiveness, faster system restarts and optimal system performance.
• The process was developed and work started on other archiving opportunities to extend ROI and results.
