Turck's Document Migration
Turck looked for help preparing for a cloud adoption strategy. Auritas data experts drafted a custom transition plan to migrate over 2.4M documents to a new data depository. In five months, the migration was complete and the company encountered no disruption. The new repository chosen, OpenText, allowed for data access directly from SAP, simplifying IT landscape. The implementation resulted in reduced maintenance costs, lower spending and reduced integration costs compared to the older system.

The Challenge
Looking to explore the benefits of cloud systems, Turck looked to Auritas for help preparing for an adoption. With compliance being the top priority, the company was looking for a data repository that offers more security and stability for their operations.
Pain Points:
• Compliance risks due to security of current external third-party storage repository.
• System performance and stability threatens daily operations.
• Preparation for potential cloud adoption.
• No plan for legacy systems with eminent system and repository transition.
• Uncontrolled database size and growth.
• Costly third-party support and management for current environment.
The Solution
With Auritas' assistance, the company successfully formulated and implemented a comprehensive plan to tackle these challenges. The initiative started with the adoption of OpenText as the new, more secure data repository. Turck chose to integrate OpenText Core Archive to manage documents external to SAP, and Auritas experts devised a custom migration program to seamlessly transfer data from the previous system to the new platform, encompassing approximately 2.4 million documents.
In addition, the adoption of OpenText resulted in a shift away from storing data on an external third-party data repository, opting instead for a more cost-effective data storage solution. With OpenText, company employees would also be able to access information directly from SAP, facilitating day-to-day operations.
With the transition, the Turck was able to stop using the legacy system. That helped with cost savings and overall management capabilities.
