Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced and technically proficient SAP Data & Document Archiving Architect with extensive expertise in SAP ILM, OpenText Archive Center, SAP ArchiveLink, and SAP BTP document storage. This role demands deep hands-on capabilities combined with system architecture, performance optimization, secure document storage strategies, and complex document pipeline management. You will lead enterprise-level implementations, architect migration strategies, and act as the go-to expert in high-compliance and high-availability environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement complex SAP data and document archiving solutions using SAP ILM, OpenText Archive Center, and SAP ArchiveLink with a focus on scalability, performance, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, SOX, HIPAA).
- Lead end-to-end implementation of OpenText Archiving and Document Access for SAP, including advanced scenario building for early and late archiving tied to SAP business processes.
- Design and execute large-scale migration projects from legacy ECM/storage platforms to OpenText or SAP BTP-based storage solutions, ensuring zero data loss and compliance with retention policies.
- Deep hands-on work in OpenText Imaging Enterprise Scan Client, Document Pipeline configuration, and Perl scripting for automation of inbound and outbound document flows.
- Implement and optimize OpenText Core Archive for SAP Solutions, including integration with S/4HANA and SAP BTP, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Collaborate closely with BASIS, Security, Compliance, and Business teams to align archiving strategy with enterprise architecture standards.
- Develop custom scripts and utilities (Perl, Shell, ABAP user exits/BADIs where applicable) for archiving automation, monitoring, and diagnostics.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting of archive-related issues at OS, DB, SAP, and middleware levels including ArchiveLink RFCs, HTTP content server issues, and data volume management (DVM) strategies.
- Drive performance tuning and system sizing efforts for high-volume document environments.
- Act as the technical point-of-contact in client-facing project phases including requirements gathering, design validation, PoCs, go-live planning, and hypercare.
Required Technical Expertise:
- 10+ years of hands-on SAP archiving and ILM experience.
- 8+ years working with OpenText Archive Center, Document Access, and Enterprise Scan.
- Expert-level knowledge of ArchiveLink architecture, Storage Categories, and SAP Content Server integration.
- Deep familiarity with OpenText Document Pipeline including Perl/Unix scripting, error handling, logging, and metadata transformation.
- Proven experience with data/document migration tools and methodologies from legacy to OpenText or SAP BTP Object Store.
- High proficiency with SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, and SAP BTP integration frameworks (REST, OData, CPI optional).
- Deep understanding of compliance frameworks, retention policies, auditability, and secure storage best practices.
- Strong cross-platform OS experience: Linux/Unix, Windows, and solid database knowledge (SAP HANA preferred).
- Proficiency in network protocols and security (HTTPS, certificates, firewall rules) as relevant to document flow and access.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP or OpenText certification (e.g., OpenText SAP Archiving Consultant, SAP ILM/ OpenText Certified).
- ABAP knowledge for user exits related to ArchiveLink and ILM policies.
- Experience with SAP Fiori apps for ArchiveLink-based attachments and integration with BTP-based services.
- Familiarity with OpenText Extended ECM, Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), or SAP DMS is a plus.
- Experience working in GxP-validated or financial regulatory environments.
