The Challenge
Dealing with both PO and non-PO invoices, Air Products was processing over 250,000 invoices per year across 35 legal entities. Despite already using an outdated version of SAP Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) by OpenText, it lacked modern functionality and automation. Without the ability to leverage the tool’s OCR capabilities, data entry was a heavily manual process. This created inefficiencies and bottlenecks, including long cycles and errors.
Facing these challenges, Air Products sought to optimize its landscape by adding modern functionalities to the existing SAP VIM solution, thereby enhancing efficiency across its invoicing processes.

This upgrade introduced advanced automation and intelligent data capture capabilities, significantly reducing reliance on manual processes.
