The Challenge
With more than five thousand employees, our client serves millions of customers primarily in multiple US states and is a leader within the consumer goods space.
To thrive in the fast-moving retail space, our client needed a self-service reporting platform to support their large workforce, eliminate dependencies, and gain real-time insights about their customers to make data-driven business decisions.
Historically and in the absence of SAP BW /4HANA platform, Sales and Financial analysts of our client’s organization would often download data from multiple source systems including SAP BW Version 7.3 which would comprise of information being carried in the form of spreadsheets and enriched data to help them carry out presentations to Business Leadership and Executive Teams. This resulted in a situation where the client was carrying ‘Multiple Versions of Truth’ which resulted in not only a loss of productivity but also did not allow the management to capture the finer aspects contained in their data about Sales, Procurement, Inventory, Supply Chain, etc. from a reporting standards perspective.
Aside from this: Data Extraction and reporting methodologies related to legacy SAP BW version 7.3 were causing additional data management and reporting issues. To address these challenges, our client decided to make use of the SAP BW/4HANA platform. Lastly, the unique challenge for Auritas was to ensure successful implementation of SAP BW/4HANA within 6-months to meet their timeline of moving their in-store operations to Online operations.
The Solution
The SAP BW/4 HANA experts at Auritas took up the challenge and implemented the project comprehensively to a satisfaction of the client by:
• Implementing standard Data Extractors and Data Models from SAP content and extending the content to meet the business requirements.
• Rolling out BW Models for SAP SD, SAP MM, SAP IM, SAP SCM, SAP CRM, SAP HCM, SAP FICO, SAP PPM, SAP WM.
• Utilizing SAP and Microsoft tools such as AFO and Power BI to build Ad-Hoc and Self-Service reporting.
• Rolling out 25+ Executive KPI Dashboards in Sales, Finance and Accounting, HCM, Warehouse Management functions for Executives, Leadership Team, Sr. Managers, Business Users, and Power Users.
• Documenting every necessary step taken during the blueprinting and implementation phases of the entire project and making the implementation-specific information available to the client’s IT team.
