The Challenge
Following the divestiture of its Buy and Watch business units, Nielsen Media had adopted SAP S/4HANA and was keen on fully utilizing SAP BTP services to enhance its document management strategy. Nielsen wanted to move from their legacy document management processes to a more integrated, flexible solution that could leverage SAP’s robust capabilities on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
With the help of Auritas and SAP, Nielsen developed a Proof of Value (POV) outlining the benefits of transitioning to SAP BTP services. This POV compared the cost and flexibility advantages of using SAP BTP over continuing with the current processes and explored the integration and custom app development options available on the platform.
The Solution
To optimize document management, Nielsen integrated SAP BTP services into its SAP environment, focusing on two key tools: ArchiveLink and SAP Document Management System (DMS).
1. ArchiveLink Integration:
By moving document storage from the SAP database to the BTP platform, Nielsen was able to streamline document access and management. Two key business objects were configured to be compatible with ArchiveLink, allowing seamless integration of documents into the SAP system while utilizing SAP BTP services for storage.
2. SAP DMS Configuration:
SAPOffice DMS documents were configured as storage containers, facilitating the migration of documents from SAPOffice to SAP BTP. Business objects without configurations were moved to BTP for better retention management. This configuration was validated through test migrations, ensuring that the migration process was smooth and effective.

Results & Benefits
By leveraging SAP BTP services, Nielsen was able to enhance its document management processes and significantly improve efficiency, compliance, and data accessibility across the organization.
